We
are a family hopelessly devoted to Great Danes. We started out showing our Danes for over 2 years before we ever contemplated breeding. We are dedicated to the ethical breeding of only the best of the breed(as described
by AKC/GDCA breed standard) We have European and American Great Dane,
Harlequins and Mantles. We've bred Horses for years but once you get
your first Great Dane your a Dane person for life. We believe you keep
your dogs for the entirety of their life, but in saying this we support
the local rescues and their work.The first Great Dane we got the
breeder spoke of early training,health testing, proper nutrition
,potential health problems ,proper housing(our dogs share our home with
us, you notice who is mentioned first), I didnt understand all the
questions and reason for a contract until we actually owned a Great Dane.
Then your hooked you'll read any and everything you can about them.
There are some very good books and online information available.( see references) We
learned to be weary of puppy mills and follow the Great Dane code of
ethics. We spent years studying pedigree's, Health issues and proper nutrition. We micro chip and DNA test. We believe in Temperament, Confirmation, Quality pure blood lines, and Certify our puppies for health. Early and frequent training as well as socialization make for a well adjusted ,well mannered dane and a happy family. Training can overt many issues. Great Danes are not the dog you buy and put in the back yard only to be seen for feedings and an occasional family BBQ. Please read puppy application for more of our philosophies.
